This photograph of the Twelve Bens was taken late was taken on the Clifden to Galway road late in the evening on a crisp December afternoon in 2009.
The mountain range dominates Connemara and much of it is in Connemara National Park which covers some 2,000 hectares of scenic countryside. The highest of the Twelve Bens is Binn Bhan which is 730m.
